Huong 016"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Two Chinese nationals, Chen Geng and Shiwei Yang, have been charged with illegally shipping sensitive microchips used in artificial intelligence (AI) applications to China without obtaining the required licensing from the Department of Commerce. The DOJ announced that the defendants&#8217; company, ALX Solutions Inc., was founded in 2022 after the US imposed export restrictions on advanced computer chips to China. The company sent restricted technology to freight-forwarding companies in Malaysia and Singapore, which then purportedly sent the shipments to China. The DOJ also accused the defendants of mislabeling a shipment as &#8220;subject to federal laws and regulations&#8221; to avoid inspection, but the chip actually required a license. Yang, who lives illegally in the U.S. after overstaying her visa, was arrested on Saturday.
