Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) has criticized Israel’s actions in Gaza, stating that every U.S. taxpayer contributes to the country’s military aid. Greene argues that innocent people in Gaza did not commit genocide against a foreign people for a foreign war she had nothing to do with. She urges her colleagues to raise their voices and urge the Trump administration to change its stance on repeated strikes on Palestinians in the region.

Several world leaders have spoken out against the Israeli government’s actions and have pledged to recognize Palestine as a sovereign state. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has criticized these decisions and maintains that the government’s goal is to eliminate Hamas, the terrorist group that attacked Israel during an October 7, 2023, music festival. Greene criticized the State Department for halting the approval of Gazans’ U.S. visitor visas for groups seeking medical treatment.

Conservatives have criticized Greene’s statements, questioning why she advocates for GAZANS to come to the US and how Islamic immigration is ‘America First’. Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) criticized Greene’s statements in May, stating that it is not a genocide and that he is entitled to his opinion.
