Things to remember. You can not fully anesthetize an inflamed abscess. I’ve said it a million times. The more inflammation, the less the lidocaine works. You can numb the skin pretty easily, but deep in the pocket is impossible. The goal here is to relief pressure and extract as much as you can within in the patients comfort zone.
