A Florida judge has ordered the dismantling of Alligator Alcatraz. Huong DN 741

Florida’s federal judge, Kathleen Williams, has ordered the closure of some of Alligator Alcatraz, a detention facility in the Sunshine State, and barred the Sunshine State from bringing more migrants to the facility. Williams, an appointee of former President Obama, ruled that Florida must halt the expansion of Alligator Alcatraz and remove all generators, gas, sewage, and other waste receptacles that were installed to support the project within 60 days. The ruling is a win for environmental organizations, who argue that the facility poses a danger to the Florida Everglades and surrounding wildlife, causing habitat loss and increased mortality to endangered species.
